Mekos Corporation has its roots in a computer consulting service begun by David Page in 1974 in Vancouver, WA, USA. After gaining experience in transportation, manufacturing and health care environments, Mr. Page “took to the streets,” as an entrepreneur, doing business as David Page Enterprises. This proprietorship was transformed into Mekos Corporation in 1977.
From its beginnings, Mekos Corporation has catered to the computing needs of a wide variety of clients, from small manufacturing businesses to giant wood products corporations, from local lending institutions to nationwide commercial fueling networks. Mekos has been part of the international trade scene, too, with clients in Canada, England and Saudi Arabia, as well as clients such as “domestic and export” lumber traders who do business worldwide.
Adaptability has been the driving force behind Mekos’ varied work. The management and technical staff have demonstrated enthusiasm for learning new programming languages, new operating environments, and new hardware. Our experience spans mainframes, minicomputers, and microcomputers. With more than three decades in the field, we have gained working knowledge of proprietary operating systems, Windows, UNIX, Linux, DOS, and networking, as well as a wide variety of programming languages. Because of this adaptability, Mekos has been able to help its customers move as needed with the changes in the information technology field.
But from the first, we’ve known that technical expertise is not enough. That’s why we make it a point always to become familiar with our clients’ business, familiar enough to provide finely tailored computer software to support the client’s data processing needs.
